If you're thinking of trying hair extensions for your wedding day, you’ve come to the right place. The hair extension experts from Foxy Locks have shared some of their top tips on how to style your hair with CWM's beauty editor, Kelly Andrews, helping you to bring your Pinterest boards to life.
"First things first, you need to choose extensions that suit your needs, this might seem like the most overwhelming part, but we’ve made this easier for you. You only have to find an extension system that fits your hair length and volume. Before choosing extensions, you must know as much as possible about their thickness levels. This also depends on the look you're trying to achieve, as there are three different weights available: 120-gram, 160-gram, and 220-gram. The thickness doesn't describe the strands’ width; instead, it points to the amount of hair attached to each weft. You can gather these extensions into a tight braid to measure how thick it would make your hair seem. As a rule of thumb, though, the higher the gram, the thicker the hair, which means more styles to play around with.
"We don't recommend wearing extensions for the first time on your actual day, instead get a feel for the weight and thickness maybe a week ahead or at your hen party. Caring for your new locks is easier than you think. Use a deep hydrating mask once a week on your natural hair, this will help revive and nourish both natural hair and hair extensions. Not only will this leave your hair silky soft, but it'll also leave it with a beautiful scent. Also, be sure to wash the extensions every three to four weeks, as well as brushing them out softly before and after you wear them to help blend them into your natural hair.
If you’ve ever wondered: 'can my hair really look like that?’ The answer is: yes it can. With countless ways to style your hair when there's plenty to work with. Foxy Locks also provides a colour matching service to get the perfect shade for you."
